1. Introduction

We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information with transparency and care. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from you, how we use and share it, and what your rights and choices are regarding your information when you use our platform and services (collectively, the "Services").

By using our Services, you agree to the collection, use, and sharing of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information in three main ways:

a) Information You Provide to Us:

  • Account Information: When you register for an account, we collect information such as your username, email address, and password (which is securely hashed).
  • Profile Information: You may choose to provide additional information for your public profile, such as a display name, biography, profile picture, cover photo, website URL, and location.
  • Content You Create: We collect the content you create, post, or share on the platform, including posts, comments, messages, and reports. This also includes any media (images, videos, files) you upload.
  • Financial Information: When you use our wallet features, we collect information about your transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, purchases, subscriptions, and transfers. We do not store your credit card details; this information is processed securely by our third-party payment gateways (e.g., Stripe, PayPal).
  • AI Persona: If you choose to set up an AI Persona, we store the custom prompt you provide.
  • Communications: When you contact us for support or provide feedback, we collect the information you provide in your communications.

b) Information We Collect Automatically:

  • Log and Usage Data: We automatically log information when you access and use our Services, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, pages viewed, and the dates and times of your access.
  • Cookies and Tracking Technologies: We use cookies and similar technologies to operate and personalize our Services. Cookies help us remember your preferences (like theme or language), keep you logged in, and understand how you interact with our platform. You can control the use of cookies at the individual browser level.

c) Information from Third Parties:

  • Social Login: If you choose to log in using a third-party service (like Google or Facebook), we receive information from that service, such as your name, email address, and public profile information, as permitted by your privacy settings on that service.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To Provide and Maintain the Services: To create and manage your account, display your content, process your transactions, and enable the core features of the platform.
  • To Improve and Personalize the Services: To understand how our users interact with the platform, customize your feed and experience, and develop new features.
  • For Security and Safety: To protect your account, prevent fraud and abuse, enforce our terms of service, and comply with legal obligations. We use rate limiting and session data to prevent malicious activity.
  • To Communicate with You: To send you transactional emails (like password resets or account confirmations), notifications about activity on the platform (if you've opted in), and newsletters (if you've subscribed).
  • To Enable Monetization: To process subscriptions and premium content purchases between creators and their supporters.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information in the following limited circumstances:

  • With Other Users: Your public profile information and the content you post publicly (posts, comments) are visible to other users of the platform.
  • With Service Providers: We share information with trusted third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as payment processing (Stripe, PayPal), AI content generation (e.g., OpenAI, Google), CAPTCHA verification, and web hosting. These providers are only given access to the information necessary to perform their services.
  • For Legal Reasons: We may disclose your information if we believe it is required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Takfe, our users, or the public.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Your Choices and Rights

You have control over your personal information and can exercise your rights at any time.

  • Access and Update: You can access and update most of your profile and account information through your Settings page.
  • Data Deletion: You can request the deletion of your account through the "Danger Zone" in your Settings page. This will permanently delete your personal information and anonymize your public content (posts and comments).
  • Communication Preferences: You can manage your email notification preferences in your Settings page and unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in the email.
  • Blocking Users: You can block other users to prevent them from interacting with you or seeing your content.

6. Data Security

We implement a variety of security measures to protect your information, including password hashing, CSRF protection on forms, and using secure protocols (HTTPS). While we take reasonable precautions, no security system is impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data.

7. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not directed to individuals under the age of 13 (or a higher age if required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on our platform prior to the change becoming effective. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
